Painting as drawing, drawing in paint, carving, are all ways of making marks. Wood provides a strong surface that can handle all kinds of media and experimentation.

This series of Mixed-media Cardboard portraits was generated by the Dangerous Women II Exhibit and inspired by Red Grooms and Marisol. I did the portraits and wrote poems for each in which I processed my attraction to the work of these artists.
